FROM MOTELS TO HOUSING

UDCE is providing joint trench services for two motel conversion projects designed by Van Meter Williams Pollack - one in Eureka developed by Providence Supportive Housing and one in Fremont developed by Resources for Community Development. Eureka House, the rehabilitation of two existing motel buildings and the addition of a new building along 4th Street in Eureka, will provide 49 affordable units, support services, and common amenities for those experiencing homelessness. Similarly, the Bell Street Gardens project in Fremont involves the conversion of an existing motel into affordable housing alongside a new family housing development, providing 128 new units total. We’re excited about these sustainable re-uses of motels to create affordable housing in California. Rendering generously provided by Van Meter Williams Pollack LLP.
