QUETZAL GARDENS

EAST SAN JOSE, CA

This Resources for Community Development project provides 71-units of affordable housing in the Little Portugal area of East San Jose, with 24 dedicated to serving families who have been homeless. The ground floor features retail space that enhances neighborhood walkability as well as a community-based nonprofit organization. The architect, SGPA, used the Quetzal bird as a guide for the building's design.

UDCE's utility company-focused process helped propel joint trench design and coordination for this project forward and ensure the right fit.
