PERALTA STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS
OAKLAND, CA
UDCE served as Civil Engineer for the Peralta Street improvements master plan and then led the design team through the preparation of construction documents including field survey, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and electrical engineering for street lights. Master planning included base mapping and planning-level opportunity/ constraints/ prioritization to identify six development areas along MLK Jr. Way.
Peralta Streetscape improvements from 7th St to 10th St and from 32nd St to Haven St includes construction of bulbouts; sidewalk, curbs, gutters and ADA ramps; installation of Class II/III bicycle facilities, parking lanes, pedestrian lights, bike racks and benches; modification of traffic signals; planting trees and landscape areas; new striping, pavement marking, and signage; bus stop relocation; and storm drainage system. The project also includes significant paving, microsurfacing and striping.
