GOLDEN GATE PARK DOG PARK
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
UDCE provided civil engineering and stormwater management services for the complete overhaul of the Dog Training Area in Golden Gate Park. The site was complicated - a historical area, situated in the City’s combined sewer area, and close to the park’s open bison pen; and the design requires close coordination with SF Recreation & Parks, the Bureau of Urban Forestry, as well as community input.
The new 1-acre site features separate areas for large and small dogs, agility courses, synthetic turf area, picnic area, new lighting, seating areas and accessible parking. To comply with the San Francisco Stormwater Ordinance, UDCE designed bioretention areas to treat runoff
