BASCOM CORRIDOR COMPLETE STREETS
SAN JOSE, CA
The Bascom Corridor Complete Streets Study is a joint project with the City of San Jose, City of Campbell, and the County of Santa Clara. The study evaluates 5.9 miles of Bascom Avenue from I-880 down to the Farnham and Ponderosa neighborhoods near SR-85. The purpose of the study is to identify and develop an implementation plan for improved bicycle, pedestrian and transit travel along the corridor while serving motorists. The study includes 10% conceptual engineering designs.
As civil engineer for the project, UDCE prepared the overarching base map for the project with inputs from the team; led the team in developing and delivering conceptual cost estimates for the preferred alternative; and prepared the narrative description for the preferred alternative regarding key factors affecting constructability including right of way constraints, utilities locations and infrastructure components. UDCE participated in multiple community engagement workshops, stakeholder meetings.
