950 GOUGH STREET

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

In 1995, a fire destroyed the ornate Gothic St. Paulus Lutheran Church at 950 Gough. In its place now stands an 8-story residential building featuring 95 condos, 11 of which are below-market rate, with a roof deck overlooking Jefferson Square Park. The ground floor includes a 10,000 square-foot sanctuary for the new St. Paulus Lutheran Church and lobby area, and the subterranean garage provides spaces for cars and bikes.

UDCE provided full civil engineering, stormwater and joint trench services for this project along the zooming Gough corridor. Dry utilities design and coordination encompassed routing of gas, electrical, telephone and cable television and the coordination of utilities in the public right of way. Our stormwater management techniques included rooftop bioretention/ green roof. No ghosts were encountered during construction.
