1550 MISSION/ 49 S. VAN NESS
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
This public-private development included the demolition of 2 existing buildings and construction of a new LEED Gold mixed-use project consisting of a 39-story mixed-income, mixed-use, 540-unit luxury apartment tower with ground floor retail, developed by Related California and a new city office building to house San Francisco Planning, Building and Public Works Departments. A portion of the historic Coca-Cola Bottling Plant clock tower was incorporated into the final block design. In between the buildings, walkways lined with retail space, meeting rooms, and an art gallery offer pedestrian thoroughfares and plazas.
UDCE’s work was from conceptual design through construction support of multi-discipline civil engineering consisting of sewer, storm drain, water, reclaimed water, and placement of all dry utilities, grading/accessibility, streetscape customization, and stormwater management.
