LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT / GOLDEN ASSOCIATES
LOCATION / SAN LEANDRO, CA
Jason Ling was responsible for overall project management and was the signatory Civil Engineer for this exciting streetscape project connecting the San Leandro BART Station to the downtown core and bus transit corridor on East 14th Street. Truly a multi-discipline capital improvements project, UDCE’s work consisted of streetscape, storm drain extension, street re-grading, sidewalk grading, accessibility, and modification of overhead utility service connections to underground. The project started with base mapping for existing condition constraints, then progressed through conceptual options for staff and community input, then design through construction support.
The project was funded by an MTC Transportation for Livable Communities Grant, Rule 20A, and local funding. It received praise from the City Mayor as well as an award from the American Society of Landscape Architects and was featured in City by Design (Panache, 2009).
